What to Expect this Lord’s Day?
Expect a welcoming atmosphere! We are a warm and friendly church, and we will be glad to meet you. Whether you are familiar with church or attending for the first time, we want you to feel welcome.
Expect to meet people! You will see many conversations happening and will find our members excited to meet you.
Expect to be an active participant in worship! Worship is not something we merely observe; it is something we do together. Throughout the service, you will be invited to participate in several meaningful ways.
After Scripture is read, Pastor Peyton may say, “This is the Word of the Lord,” and the congregation responds together, “Thanks be to God!”
Every other week, we also highlight a catechism question and answer. The words will appear on the screen, and everyone is encouraged to read the response aloud together.
You are also invited to join us in singing. Whether the songs are familiar or new to you, we encourage you to lift your voice with the congregation as we praise the Lord.
Expect singing that exalts God! We seek to sing simple, theologically-rich, and historically-proved hymns.
Expect to open the Bible! Pastor Peyton preaches expositionally. This is verse-by-verse through whole books of the Bible—desiring to understand what the author meant to convey to his historical audience and how this applies to our daily lives today.
Expect prayer! We pray to a sovereign God who is always in control and is never taken by surprise. He cares for His people, hears our prayers, and invites us to bring our needs before Him.
What About Children?
We believe that children are a blessing from God and are a vital part of every local church. During our Lord's Day services, families are encouraged to stay in the sanctuary to worship and study together. We know that having kids in our meetings with us brings some extra “kid noise” with it, and we like it that way. We love having families with kids of all ages worshiping together with us! That said, if you ever feel like you need to step out, there's no judgment there either! We have an un-staffed nursery available in the fellowship hall with all kinds of goodies for you and the kiddos!
